Definitely worth the 2 miles off Route 85. Ribs were tender and falling off the bone. Brisket was very tender. Spices and rubs yielded lots of flavor.

This was a good experience. Everyone has their own interpretation of BBQ, especially here in the South. This was good meat but not as smoky or spicy as many. The beef brisket was nice and lean and tasted like a beef roast. Ribs had a nice bit of dry rub on them. I really liked the cole slaw. Baked beans were very good too and I thought the hush puppies were excellent. Tried some of the pork BBQ and had a choice of pulled or minced. Got the minced and it was really finely chopped. Pork needed sauce to add flavor to my taste. Speaking of sauce, they have 2 very good ones; one is a sweet tangy one and the other has a lot of spices and is not as sweet. Prices were about what I expect to pay at a nice BBQ place for a 2 or 3 meat plate. I thought the portions were good and a bit more than I wanted to eat. My colleague enjoyed the Collard greens too. I think that this place does a nice job and you may find it to your liking.

Exceptional. The reviews are true. The staff is very friendly. I loved the counter service atmosphere. The food is homemade and served fast. The onion rings were breaded just the way I like. Perfectly cooked. The side of homemade sauce with the rings is great. The brisket sandwich was tasty. The bun was soft. The bbq sauce is homemade and made the sandwich. On my way out I couldn’t resist one of their homemade pies. I love pecan pie! Traveling from Durham to Richmond VA, this was the perfect lunch spot along the interstate. Enjoy.

Best BBQ in VA, NC, SC... Anywhere. Can't beat it. Drive all the way here from Richmond to eat. Worth every penny!

This place is a hidden treasure! The brisket, lemon chess pie, and blackberry lemon cheesecake were the bomb. This will definitely become a regular stop when I'm in town.

The barbecue is good but the smoked chicken is the best I have ever had. Also don't leave without a slice of pie.

This place has the BEST brisket I have ever consumed. I poked it with my plastic fork and it just fell right apart, it was...an experience.The cheesecakes too were something special, especially the Blackberry White Chocolate (my partner adored his brownie bite cheesecake as well).Also, I adore the space. It was once a gas station convenience store and the atmosphere is so cool. I live 1.5 hours from here and I will drive back specifically to eat more brisket.

Passing through on vacation, we Wish we had room for more hush puppies and homemade dessert! Delicious hole in the wall, affordable and filling with tons of options and friendly service.

Went for lunch Saturday about 1:30. It wasn't real busy but lunch rush was over. I ordered the large beef brisket sandwich. Man oh man was it good!! You could tell just by looking at it that these guys really take their time and do it right. Biting into it I was not disappointed. The flavor was one you only get from proper slow cooking. If this is any indication of the rest of their meats, and I'm sure it is, they really know what they are doing! They had 2 different sauces to choose from and the one I had just enhanced the BBQ flavor of the meat. It's counter service so no waiter or waitress which is just fine and seems to speed up the whole process. It's very casual. Eat at a table inside, get your own drink and refills. Or you can eat outside on a nice day. Nothing fancy here but just great BBQ. I'll be back, that's for sure!

A nice country BBQ. The food is very tasty. The beef brisket was moist and flavorful. Besides the BBQ, they gave homemade desserts. We had sweet potato pie. Definitely better than standard chain food. Worth the trip off the beaten path. If it were possible I would give this place a 10 star review. Their smoked brisket is the best I have found since I moved from Texas! The food, service, and atmosphere is awesome!

Delicious food, good prices, chill small cafeteria style atmosphere, very laid back. I'm not a fan of barbecue, but this barbecue was fantastic and if I'm in the area again would definitely return. They offer pork, beef, and chicken barbecue, and a few different plates - I had pulled pork and a separate catfish dinner, the turnip greens were also good. Service was super friendly and place fills up fast at lunch. Recommend!

They food is pretty especially the chicken fillet,, but when getting ribs it don't which order u get it's always 3-4 bones and that's a rip off😶

It's pretty flipping good. My son had bbq, macaroni and cheese, and fries with peach cobbler. All really good. I had bbq, potato salad, collards and chess pie. The peach cobbler was wonderful, made with real peaches! I didn't care for the potato salad. It was meh but everything else compensated even the small side of Cole slaw.

Everyone is really sweet. Green beans were pretty good. BBQ was about the worst I've ever had. Bless their hearts. But I'm from Texas where if I cooked something like that I would throw it away before I let someone try it. Or I'd never hear the end of it. Happy to donate some money to their smoke expierment I just hope they know they gotta keep trying to get better.

Great barbeque place, but leave room for dessert as their cakes, pudding, and pies are delicious. We had the three meat platter with pork, brisket, and chicken. They were all good, but the flavor on the brisket was amazing. Best one I have ever had outside of Texas. It's a little out of the way from the highway, but totally worth the short drive.

Oh my goodness. The ribs and pulled chicken were tender and superb smoke flavor. Mac n cheese was creamy and tasty. The employees were very warm, friendly and appreciative of my visit. Love the background music and pleasant ambience. Will definitely visit again.

Oh Yeah! Brisket is phenomenal. Ribs were very tasty but I prefer them a little more tender. The collards here are good and the cheesecake is spectacular. I tried a slice of "white chocolate blackberry cheesecake" and WOW! Relatively a small establishment but big flavors coming out of this joint. I shall return.

They do a fine bbq they should be proud of. Sauces are tasty - remember to enhance the meat, not drown it! Sides were good. I'm glad I found it.

I’m not sure if I got a bad batch of pork or something but it just didn’t have a typical smokey/meaty flavor you would expect for pulled pork. The sauce was alright, but it was necessary as this pork can not stand on its own. It wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t good.

Food was Amazing! Pulled pork very moist, sauces great, baked beans delicious! No complaints! Mac and cheese,cole slaw,ribs, fries all good. Plus homemade pie! They also have ice cream and offer a salad bar by the pound. Staff was pleasant and very helpful! Will definitely stop here again if im in the area!

Pork BBQ was awesome, collards and fried okra were the best I've had in years. You definitely have to try the hushpuppies. We'll definitely be back to try the brisket and chicken. **UPDATE** Have been back (twice, LOL) and tried the brisket, perfect is about the only way I can describe what I had that day. beautiful flavor sauce was just right not to much and char and smoke were just right.
